Built for how Johannesburg does business

Johannesburg is the largest IT market in Africa and the most competitive. The CBD, Braamfontein and Parktown hold law firms, government-facing consultancies, NGOs and the professional services that cluster around the courts and the universities; Rosebank and Melrose carry advisory firms and agencies; Auckland Park, Milpark and Parkhurst mix media, medical and creative businesses; Alberton, Glenvista and the south hold manufacturing, distribution and long-established family firms.

The businesses we support in Johannesburg have three things in common. They are too small for an internal IT department but too regulated or too dependent on their systems to run on break-fix. They have been burned by a large provider that treated a fifteen-person firm as a small account. And they want to know what it costs before the meeting, not after.

We serve Johannesburg from Centurion with senior engineers - never juniors - response times in writing, a weekly on-site visit on the Fully Managed and Enterprise packages, and the same published prices we offer in Pretoria. Our regional pages for Sandton, Midrand, Randburg and Fourways, and the East Rand cover the rest of the city.

Your Johannesburg engineer

Senior engineer, Johannesburg

One senior engineer is assigned to every managed client in Johannesburg, does the weekly on-site visit in person and holds the site notes for your building: the fibre provider, the switch cupboard, the UPS run-time. Remote support from Centurion covers everything else, usually within the hour.

What Johannesburg businesses ask us to fix

The six things behind most of the tickets we get from this side of town.

Compliance for legal, financial and NGO clients

POPIA, FICA and donor audits all ask the same technical questions: encrypted devices, access control, tested backups, an incident plan. We implement them and document them so you can show the auditor.

Microsoft 365 done properly

Licensing, conditional access, shared mailboxes, Teams governance and a nightly backup of every mailbox and SharePoint site - Microsoft does not keep one for you.

Old buildings in the CBD, Braamfontein and Parktown

Heritage offices with cabling from another era and shared building connectivity. We test, replace and document, and add LTE failover where a fibre fault would stop the business.

Load-shedding on City Power blocks

Johannesburg blocks differ street by street. We map yours, size UPS for the network and server and set failover so calls and email keep working.

Same-day hardware replacement

A consultant without a laptop is a consultant not billing. We keep configured spares, swap the machine and restore from backup, usually the same day.

Growing without an IT department

A written IT plan reviewed each quarter, a 12-month roadmap and a budget you can defend to partners - included on the Enterprise package.

Johannesburg questions

What businesses on this side of Pretoria ask before they sign.

You are based in Centurion. Can you really support a Johannesburg business?

Yes. Most faults are fixed remotely inside the hour. When hands are needed an engineer is on the N1 the same morning, 40 to 60 minutes away. Fully Managed and Enterprise clients get a scheduled weekly on-site visit, so most hardware work happens on that day.

What does managed IT cost for a 25-person Johannesburg firm?

Core Business IT is R750 per user per month, Fully Managed R950 and Enterprise R1,299. Twenty-five users on Enterprise is R32,475 a month with four on-site hours a week, managed servers, restores tested quarterly, an account manager and a 12-month roadmap. Prices are published before we meet.

Do you charge for travel to Johannesburg?

A R650 callout applies to every on-site visit, including the weekly one - the same everywhere we work, so the monthly fee never hides travel. Remote support has no callout.

Can you help a law firm or NGO with POPIA and audit requirements?

Yes. Encrypted devices, access control on client and donor files, tested backups with restores you can prove, a written incident plan and, on Fully Managed, a signed operator agreement.

Which parts of Johannesburg do you cover?

All of it. This page covers the CBD, Braamfontein, Parktown, Rosebank, Auckland Park and the south; Sandton, Midrand, Randburg and Fourways and the East Rand each have their own page with local detail.

Can you replace a dead laptop the same day?

Yes. We keep configured spares, swap the machine and restore the user's data from the nightly backup, usually the same day.

Do you administer Microsoft 365?

Yes - licensing, users, conditional access, Teams and SharePoint governance, and a nightly backup of mailboxes and files that we test on a schedule.

Can we start with an audit before committing?

Yes. A 15-minute introductory meeting at no charge, then an IT audit at R750 an hour plus the callout, followed by a written 10-point plan with an estimate against every point.

Useful for Johannesburg businesses

Your first month with us in Johannesburg

What happens between signing and the first monthly report. No surprises, nothing done without a quote.

  1. Day 1

    1. Site survey and inventory

An engineer walks the premises, photographs the comms cupboard, records every computer, printer, switch and licence, and notes the fibre provider, the UPS run-time and who has admin rights. You get the inventory as a spreadsheet the same week.

  2. Week 1

    2. Monitoring and protection on every device

Our agent goes onto every computer and server: patching, antivirus, disk health and backup status report back to the helpdesk. Anything already failing shows up now, before it becomes a call.

  3. Week 1

    3. Backups tested, not assumed

Whatever backup exists is restored to a test folder to prove it works. If nothing exists, a nightly cloud backup of servers and Microsoft 365 mailboxes goes in, with a restore drill in the diary.

  4. Week 2

    4. The written 10-point plan

Ten things we would fix, in priority order, each with an estimate. Some are free (password policy, removing admin rights), some need budget (a UPS that lasts the full two hours). You decide the order; nothing is done without a signed quote.

  5. Week 3

    5. First scheduled visit

The assigned engineer's weekly on-site slot starts. Users know the face and the day; small annoyances get fixed while they are small instead of becoming tickets.

  6. Week 4

    6. Review with the owner

Thirty minutes: what was found, what was fixed, what the monitoring shows, what is next. Then monthly, in writing, for as long as you are a client.
